Choowy Goowy!

So to say I’ve had a couple of bad days would be an understatement yesterday so I decided with a colleague of mine to order Choowy Goowy cookies and brownies.

The choowy goowy dude called me at 8:53 and I was asleep (I’m supposed to be at work at 9). So basically if he didn’t call I would have never made it to work. I will leave you with some pictures and things people said after tasting them:

S: Are they nice?
D: Re-phrase your question to how nice are they?

D: It’s like an explosion of mini orgasms in my mouth

And the long silence with the infamous mmmmmm after a while

N: Don’t talk to me right now, I’m savouring this moment!

Personally, Rocky Road is my favorite there is no other cookie/brownie/cupcake in the WORLD that tops it! The Choco Loco is nice but doesn’t stay as soft as Rocky Road after a while so is best eaten fresh. The brownies were heavenly, but we asked for caramel sauce which in my opinion would taste better with brownies but it wasn’t available at the time that we ordered. The chocolate sauce tastes amazing but could use a little work, not in the taste but in the texture, it’s too runny, but nevertheless delicious!

Suggestion: Try implementing the rocky road recipe into a brownie! Mmmm toffee with marshmallows in a brownie!

But make sure you make your order one day in advance! You will not regret it! Trust me!

Words are useless especially sentences…

Interesting weekend… Went out with family to Colour Me Mine, I made myself a mug and I painted something for my sister which is a surprise until I see her in August, I know she reads my blog. While waiting for my other sister to finish painting the most detailed ceramic in the entire store I painted a peace sign, my mum added ‘of shit’ lol.

Different to my usual weekend routine. You have to keep the ceramics there for an entire week because they put them in some sort of an oven. I will post the pics when I get them.

I made chocolate cake with cream cheese and cinnamon. I got positive feedback from it…

I also made pasta with garlic and tomato. I put two small portions aside, one for work on Sunday and one from Monday and left the rest for everyone else.

Does anyone remember International Velvet and National Velvet? National Velvet came out in 1944, the sequel came out in 1978. My mum used to watch them then when I started horse riding she passed the video tapes down to me, I watched these movies over and over and over and over again. I used to watched them so many times that I memorised the lines, scenes, everything. Sadly though I lost the videotape when I was about 11. Which is when I stopped horse riding. I wish I could start again, I think about it alot. I found them on Amazon and I will be ordering them very soon.

Incinerated

Ok maybe not incinerated, but it sure feels like it…

I was baking a cake for mama as soon as I got home. All went well until I picked up the baking rack to flip the cake. I forgot that I’d just taken it out of the oven which was 180 degrees. I instantly dropped it.

So now three of my fingers are burnt and bubbling, I didn’t get to finish making my cake, I’m angry, my fingers smell like tomato. And I was in such a good mood when I came home, I was gonna make cookies 😦

I’ll put up the pics of my finger tomorrow…

Banoffee Pie

I’ve never really written a recipe for anything before but I originally learnt this recipe from someone who makes the nicest banoffee pie in the world!

You will need-
. 3 to 4 bananas
. 2 packs of KDD kwik whip
. 1 packet of digestives
. 5 cans of nestle condensed milk or one jar of smuckers caramel
. 1 flake chocolate bar
. 2 sticks of butter

First off all make sure the butter is out of the fridge a good couple of hours before you start so that it’ll be soft.
Empty the cans of nestle condensed milk in to a pan and put that on the stove, you should bake it for around 3 hours.
Empty the pack of digestive biscuits in a large mixing bowl and crush them with your hands (wash your hands obviously!) make sure you get all the pieces even the little ones so that there won’t be any lumpy bits in it!
Add the butter in small cubes and mix it until you can’t see the butter, make sure to add the butter bit by bit until you see how much is appropriate so that it won’t be too soft or too little.
Get a plate and put the biscuit mix you made inside it and proceed to spread it evenly making sure it doesn’t fall apart. If it does then you need to add more butter.

Put the plate in the fridge until the toffee is ready. You will know when it is ready because it will turn brown. Take the plate out of the fridge and pour the toffee over the biscuit mix.
Get a chopping board and slice the bananas thinly. Place the bananas evenly over the caramel making as many layers as you like (use more bananas if neccessary)
Get another mixing bowl and empty both packets of kwik whip and whip until it turns into cream.
Spread the cream evenly over the bananas making sure to cover them. Put it in the fridge for a good couple of hours to set. When you take it out you can crumble the flake to use on top or you could use a couple of slices of banana in the middle or biscuit crumble and chocolate syrup.

Tips: To know if your whipped cream is ready try tipping the bowl upside down if you see it slipping then it needs to be whipped more, if you can hold it upside down without it moving then it’s ready (make sure not to over whip because it will taste, well, over whipped)

You could use a little crushed walnut in the base to give it more flavor, cinnamon powder or drizzle chocolate syrup ontop of the bananas. Whatever floats your boat.

Happy Baking!!

Banoffee Galore

In the duration of 3 days I baked 4 dozen cupcakes (chococolate chip, chocolate with butterscotch chips, chocolate cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese and chocolate with smores) brownie bites, at least 10 banofee pies. I had to make at least three trips to the jam3iya because I was running out of supplies every couple of batches. Over all everything turned out ok but I still have to perfect the brownies. Everyone at home was complaining because the house smelled so good! I wish I’d taken pics so I could post them here, I think I will be baking pie tonight (Thanks to D for getting me the recipe for the crust) probably apple, blueberry and strawberry! So I will definitely be posting pics of those up here.

Another way to vent other than shopping or coloring your hair is to bake. Bake bake bake until your fingers hurt. Just don’t eat it all when your done!

I will also be posting the recipe for banoffee later today.
